Sullinger Earns Fifth League Freshman of Week Award – Ohio State Buckeyes

Jared Sullinger averaged a double-double last week and turned in another record setting performance in the Buckeyes’ nationally televised victory over South Carolina to earn his fifth Big Ten Freshman of the Week award Monday.
For the week the 6-9 freshman from Columbus averaged 20.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in wins vs. Florida Gulf Coast (83-55) and the Gamecocks (79-57). He poured in 30 points and collected a record-setting 19 rebounds in the South Carolina game. His 33-foot, banked 3-pointer, his first career made 3, at the halftime buzzer capped an opening 20 minutes vs. the Gamecocks in which he talled a double-double 18 points and 10 rebounds. For the week he connected on 15-of-26 field goals (58 pct.), made 10-of-13 FTs (.769), recorded an assist, a block and two steals in 52 minutes of court time. All this without a turnover.
