“Lose the Blue” Returns in 2010 – Ohio State Buckeyes

Now in its fifth year, clothing drive during Michigan week looks to top 20,000 pounds
COLUMBUS, Ohio – To Ohio State fans in central Ohio and across the world, the phrase “Lose the Blue” comes naturally. The spirit Buckeye fans show for their football team in the week leading up to the annual rivalry game with Michigan also has benefited the community for the past four years.
Since its inception in 2006 the “Lose the Blue” clothing drive, headed by the Ohio State Department of Athletics and the Ohio State University Trademark and Licensing Services Department, has collected more than 18,000 pounds of clothing for Goodwill Columbus. Last year, the initiative gathered more than 4,000 pounds.
This year, fans can donate gently used items of blue clothing at the Ohio State Athletics Official Team Shop or at several other merchandise outlets throughout the city. With a donation of a blue item combined with a minimum purchase of $10, fans will receive a free “Beat Blue” Rah Rag, courtesy of Homage Clothing Co.

Donate at Men’s and Women’s Hoops Games this week at the Schott
Bring gently used blue items of clothing to Official Team Shop Monday to the women’s basketball game or to the men’s basketball games Tuesday and Friday and receive a free Rah Rag, with a minimum purchase of $10. Also be sure to check out the holiday sale, running Nov. 22-27, inside the store located on the concourse of Value City Arena. The Team Shop will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 to observe the Thanksgiving holiday.
