COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State men’s basketball team starts practice a week from today in preparation for the 2010-11 season. The Buckeyes open the gym doors officially Oct. 15 with the first game scheduled for Nov. 12 against North Carolina A&T. That game tips at 7 p.m. at Value City Arena.
An exhibition contest is slated for 2 p.m. Nov. 7 vs. Walsh University at VCA.
Jared Sullinger, a Columbus native, is one of six freshmen on the squad this year. Transfer Evan Ravenel, a junior from Tampa, Fla., will sit out this season after spending the last two years at Boston College. He will have two years of eligibility starting with the 2011-12 campaign.
Student season tickets go on sale at 4 p.m. Oct. 12 at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
