No. 18 Buckeyes Fall, 1-0, at Indiana – Ohio State Buckeyes

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The No. 18 Ohio State women’s soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Indiana Sunday afternoon in Bloomington. Jocelyn Moses scored the game-winner for the Hoosiers in the 67th minute, sending a cross toward the far post that floated over the head of Ohio State goalkeeper Katie Baumgardner.
With the loss, Ohio State drops to 13-4-1 on the season and in a tie with Penn State atop the Big Ten with a 7-2-0 record. Indiana improves to 6-11-1, 2-7-0 in the Big Ten.
The Buckeyes were able to put early pressure on the Hoosiers, recording three shots, two on goal, and three corner kicks in the first 20 minutes but were unable to find the back of the net. Then, in the final 10 minutes of the first half, Indiana goalkeeper Shannon Flower made a pair of key saves on shots by Tiffany Cameron and Kristen Niederhaus to keep the game scoreless heading into the break.
At the half, Ohio State held an 8-3 advantage in shots, 5-2 on goal, and a 5-1 lead in corner kicks.
After a shot on goal by Cameron six minutes into the second half, the Hoosier defense was able to hold Ohio State in check until the final five minutes. Paige Maxwell almost scored the equalizer in the 86th but her shot was saved off the line by a Hoosier defender. Less than a minute later, Niederhaus had a header that sailed wide left and another shot by Niederhaus sailed high in the final minute of play.
For the game, Ohio State held a 15-6 advantage in shots including 7-4 on goal. The Buckeyes also recorded 10 corner kicks to four for the Hoosiers. The game marked just the second time Ohio State has been shutout this season.
The Buckeyes conclude the regular season against Michigan State at 7:30 p.m. Friday on Senior Night at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
