Buckeyes Named on Phil Steele’s Midseason Awards – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Members of the Ohio State football team were announced Wednesday to Phil Steele’s 2010 midseason awards list, including three on the All-American team and 12 on the All-Big Ten team. Phil Steele’s College Football Preview is one of the nation’s most informative preseason football magazines and has always released Preseason, Midseason and Postseason All-American teams as well as All-Conference teams.
On the All-American list, Chimdi Chekwa was listed as a second team All-American and Ross Homan was a third team All-American. On offense, Justin Boren was named to the fourth team.
On the All-Big Ten list, offensively, Dane Sanzenbacher was a first team selection, while Terrelle Pryor, DeVier Posey, Justin Boren, and Bryant Browning were listed on the second team. Mike Brewster and Jordan Hall earned third team honors.
Defensively, Homan and Chekwa were named to the first team list and Cameron Heyward and Brian Rolle were second team honorees. Devon Torrence rounded out the Buckeyes as a third team recipient.
The Buckeyes (6-1, 2-1 Big Ten) face Purdue at noon Saturday in Columbus on by the Big Ten Network.
