COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State forward Paige Maxwell has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks, the conference office announced Monday.
The junior scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in the Buckeyes’ 3-1 victory Friday night at Iowa. She came back Sunday and scored the game-winner in the 99th minute of a 1-0 overtime win at Northwestern as the Buckeyes improved to 10-2-1 on the season, 4-0-0 in Big Ten play.
It is the fourth-consecutive game that the Medina, Ohio, native has notched the game-winner for the Buckeyes and it marked her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Maxwell, with six goals in her last five matches, is tied for the Big Ten lead with four game-winners this season and has eight game-winners in her career.
The Buckeyes, now alone in first place in the Big Ten, host second-place Wisconsin at 7:30 p.m. Friday before taking on Minnesota at noon Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
