Plenty of merchandise and concession stands await your visit to campus for the 2009 football home opener; don’t miss the football-shaped funnel cakes
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kickoff to the 2009 Ohio State football season opener is quickly approaching and one can be assured there will be many a Buckeye fan seen on campus wearing a home scarlet jersey and enjoying a hot dog or other game-day fare.
To best assist all fans headed to campus for the Navy-Ohio State tilt (noon/ESPN/Ohio State Radio Network), here are some of the locations of Official Team Shop licensed merchandise in and around Ohio Stadium:
At Ohio Stadium
- Sections 24A, 12A, 11A, 23A, 16C
- Suite and Huntington Club levels
On Campus
- The Official Team Shop at the Jerome Schottenstein Center
- The recreation and physical activities center
- The Fan Fest area on the north side of St. John Arena
A special commemorative t-shirt for the Ohio State – Navy game is currently on sale at the Official Team Shop and will be available at stands on game day. The 2009 official game-day T-shirts also are available at all locations.
Also back for 2009, are the customized jersey stands and the silent auction areas. At section 16A, fans can have a personalized Ohio State replica jerseys made with name and number of their choice. The silent auction locations this season are at 17A, 22A and Huntington Club.
Concessions
There are not many things that go better with football than food and Ohio Stadium has some new items to test the Scarlet and Gray palette.
Foot-long hot dogs will be available for the first time at sections 19C and 14C, while outside the stadium fans can try out the new football-shaped funnel cakes at the Fan Fest area of St. John Arena.
Also new in 2009, the concession stand in 19A also is serving as a pilot site for the University’s Scarlet, Gray and Green program. The stand will attempt to become a “zero-waste” by using all compostable or recyclable materials.

Ohio State season-ticket holders can purchase comfort with official seatback chairs. Information on purchasing seatback chairs can be found at four locations in the stadium – 12A, 13A, 5C, 8C).
