Inniss Placed on the Hornung Award Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ohio State wide receiver Brandon Inniss was named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, as announced by Louisville Sports Commission Monday afternoon.

The award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung. This is the 17th season the award will be handed out.

Last season, Inniss totaled 552 snaps at wide receiver and on special teams. He ended the season with 35 receptions for 271 yards and three touchdowns while also having five kick returns for 66 yards and 17 punt returns for 181 yards, helping him earn All-Big Ten Special Teams Honorable Mention.

Additionally, prior to the 2025 campaign he was named one of the four team captains.

Hornung Award Process
After the completion of week 10 in the regular season, LSC staff creates and distributes an informational packet on players who made the Honor Roll to the 19-member Paul Hornung Award Selection Committee. The Selection Committee members vote for their top three choices for PHA Finalists using this list and any other FBS players that meet the PHA criteria. Results are based on a 5-3-1 point system (1st place – 5 points; 2nd place – 3 points; 3rd place – 1 point). A designated number of players with the most points comprises the Finalist List.

In early December following conference championship weekend, the Selection Committee members choose their top three players from the finalist pool, ranked in order 1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place. The 5-3-1 point system will be used to determine the winner.

Fan voting accounts for the 19th vote (approximately 6 percent of the overall votes) for both finalists and the winner using the 5-3-1 point system.

Ohio State Preseason Honors

Phil Steele:
- Six Ohio State players were named preseason All-Americans by the publication while 16 Buckeyes were placed on the preseason All-Big Ten team.

Athlon Sports:
- Seven Ohio State players were named preseason All-Americans by the publication while 16 Buckeyes were placed on the preseason All-Big Ten team.

Walter Camp:
- Junior wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and redshirt junior offensive lineman Austin Siereveld were placed on the first team while redshirt sophomore quarterback Julian Sayin was listed as a preseason second team selection by the organization.

Shriners Children's East-West Bowl 1000
- Ohio State football had 19 players selected to the Shriners Children's East-West Bowl 1000. The list includes a representative from almost every position room at Ohio State including five defensive lineman, four offensive linemen, three safeties and three wide receivers.
