Redd Recognized for Gift Toward Basketball Facility – Ohio State Buckeyes

Michael Redd, who lettered at Ohio State in men’s basketball from 1998-2000, was recognized Saturday at midfield at halftime of the football game vs. USC.
Redd, a member of the 2008 U.S. Men’s Basketball team that won the gold medal in Beijing, China, and a National Basketball Association All-Star with the Milwaukee Bucks, was honored for a financial gift made to the Ohio State Department of Athletics.
Redd, his wife Achea and the Michael Redd Foundation recently contributed $500,000 to the basketball practice facility renovation and enhancement project.
The gift is the largest in the history of Ohio State athletics by a current professional athlete.
Accepting the check was Gene Smith, Ohio State associate vice president and director of athletics, and Thad Matta, head coach of the Buckeyes.
