Adams, Shugarts get a shot
Large sophomores might anchor line at offensive tackle
The Columbus Dispatch Put together, Mike Adams and J.B. Shugarts would stand 13 feet, 4 inches tall and weigh 620 pounds. That might win them the title of world’s biggest question mark. As Ohio State gets set to open preseason practice Monday, there might be no more pressing issue than how well its rebuilt offensive line comes together. The Buckeyes likely will have only one player — center Mike Brewster — starting at the same position as last year.
Buckeyes fan gets rare glimpse at Big Ten meetings
Columbus Dispatch While thinking how to describe how purely awesome attending the Big Ten Football Kickoff Luncheon was I tried to come up with some parallels so that one may understand: defeating Michigan five consecutive seasons, Terrelle Pryor signing with the Buckeyes, the 2002 National Championship, Michigan’s 3-9 record last season, the list could go on. I realize on the surface it’s likely hard to fathom that a meal and listening to people speak for two hours is anywhere near as exhilarating as these experience from our very recent Buckeye past but give me a chance here to explain.
Me: Coach, would you sign one of your pictures for my wife please?
Tressel: Absolutely, who do I make it out to?
Me: Make it out to Brie, you spell it just like the cheese.
Tressel: You have a lot of faith thinking I know how to spell brie the cheese.
Me: Coach, all of us Buckeyes have a lot of faith in you.
And that was it! That was my interaction with Tressel. Having never met him before, never seeing him not on the sideline, this was as close to nirvana as it was getting for me.
