ATH: Ohio State Collects 14 CoSIDA Publications Awards – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) awarded the Ohio State Athletics Communications and Creative Services departments with 14 honors in the 2008-09 publications contest.
At the top of the list of OSU publications were the football and women’s basketball game programs. Jerry Emig and Andy DeVito produced the football program, while Adam Widman, Breanna Brasseur and Stacey Freyer collaborated on the women’s basketball program that also received best cover. The men’s basketball game program was produced by DeVito and Freyer and brought home second in the nation.
The men’s gymnastics, men’s track and field and men’s golf media guides all took home third in the nation. Emily Meyer and Kyle McKee produced the men’s gymnastics guide and Widman paired with Taurean Jones for the men’s track and field guide. The trio of Courtney Walerius, Kyle Rowland and Brasseur received the honor for the men’s golf media guide.
Leann Parker and DeVito collaborated on the fifth-ranked men’s lacrosse guide. Alissa Clendenen and Walerius each paired with Brasseur to create the seventh-ranked softball and women’s hockey guides, respectively. The women’s hockey guide also took best in the district.
The women’s soccer guide produced by Emig and Brasseur received eighth in the nation and second in the district while Ohio State’s final publication award was given to the men’s volleyball guide by D.C. Koehl and DeVito which came in second in the district.
Publication samples for each sport are submitted to a member of the CoSIDA publications committee, who serves as chairperson and assembles a group of three judges to critique and rank the media guide or game program based on content, design and creativity.
