WBK: Ohio State Earns No. 3 Seed in Berkeley Regional
The Ohio State women’s basketball team (27-5) earned a No. 3 seed in the Berkeley Regional and will play No. 14 seed Sacred Heart (25-7) at Nationwide Arena downtown Columbus at 2:30 p.m. ET Saturday, March 21 in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. – MORE –

WBK: Foster, Lavender Receive WBCA All-Region Honors Honors continue to pour in for the Ohio State women’s basketball team. Today the WBCA announced that head coach Jim Foster is this year’s RUSSELL ATHLETIC/WBCA Region 6 Coach of the Year while sophomore center Jantel Lavender was named one of the regional finalists for the State Farm Coaches’ All-America Team. – MORE –
WBK: Ohio State One of 14 NCAA Tournament Teams with 100-Percent Graduation Rate Fourteen women’s basketball teams in the NCAA tournament have perfect graduation rates. That list includes the tournament’s top seed, Connecticut, according to a report released Monday by The Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport at the University of Central Florida. – MORE –

WBK: Alumni Association to Hold “Buckeye Bash” Party Saturday The Ohio State Alumni Association and the Frog, Bear and Wild Boar are teaming up to give Buckeye alumni a place to follow their favorite team during the first weekend of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament. The tournament celebration will kick-off at Frog, Bear and Wild Boar, 343 N. Front St., Columbus, with a free Buckeye Bash pep rally from 9:30-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21. The Ohio State athletic pep band, cheerleaders, Brutus, and other special guests will appear at the free Bash. – MORE –
