WBK: Stokes’ Approach Influenced by Family For freshman Amber Stokes, being a basketball player at Ohio State is more than a privilege. For her, it is becoming a family tradition. Being the daughter of former Buckeye Ron Stokes, the Gahanna Lincoln High School product grew up to be a basketball and track standout. Despite being sidelined all season with a shoulder injury, Stokes still took time to talk about making decisions, her free time and being a Buckeye. – MORE –
WBK: Battle for First Place with Indiana Goes to Buckeyes, 59-51 It wasn’t pretty — except to Ohio State coach Jim Foster. Star Allen scored 21 points and Jantel Lavender added 17, and each had two baskets in a 15-3 surge to end the half, to lead No. 15 Ohio State past Indiana 59-51 on Sunday. “The pretty ones, we like them, but the games like today are the ones that develop a little character for your team,” Foster said. – MORE –
