Big Ten/ACC Challenge Brings Florida State to Columbus

The Florida State Seminoles travel to Columbus with a 6-1 record to take on the Buckeyes in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. FSU has a trio averaging 10 or more points led by Chris Singleton’s 12.3 points and team-leading 8.1 rebounds. Derwin Kitchen and Solomon Alabi both contribute just about 10 points a game. The Seminoles are fresh off winning the Old Spice Classic Sunday in Orlando, Fla. Florida State beat Iona (54-49), Alabama (60-51) and Marquette (57-56) to earn the title. – MORE –

Evan Turner Named co-Big Ten Player of the Week
CHICAGO – Evan Turner collects his third consecutive weekly honor after etching his name in Ohio State lore while leading the No. 18 Buckeyes to a pair of wins last week. On Tuesday, the junior guard recorded Ohio State’s third all-time triple double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists to propel the Scarlet and Gray past Lipscomb, 84-64. The Chicago native now owns two triple-doubles on the year, making him one of just 34 NCAA student-athletes all-time to record multiple triple-doubles in a single season. – MORE –
