Turner Helps Buckeyes Sweep Weekly Big Ten Award

CHICAGO–Ohio State’s Evan Turner collects his second consecutive weekly laurel after recording his fourth double-double in as many outings in the Buckeyes’ two-game stint at Madison Square Garden last week. Turner began the week with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds to fuel the late comeback against North Carolina on Thursday. The Chicago native added four helpers and two steals against the reigning national champions, but OSU’s rally would ultimately fall short as the No. 4-ranked Tar Heels escaped with a narrow 77-73 win. – MORE –

Buckeyes Return to Action vs. Lipscomb
The Buckeyes will face Lipscomb University for the first time when the teams get together tonight at Value City Arena. Ohio State is 9-0 all-time vs. teams representing the Atlantic Sun Conference the last being an 81-68 victory over Jacksonville Dec. 17, 2008 at Value City Arena. The Buckeyes own a 3-0 record vs. Stetson, 2-0 marks vs. East Tennessee State and Jacksonville and single victories vs. Belmont and Mercer. Lipscomb is one of two teams on the 2009-10 schedule facing the Buckeyes for the first time. Ohio State takes on St. Francis (Pa.) Nov. 28 in the first game of that series. – MORE –

No. 15 Buckeyes Roll Past No. 13 California, 76-70
NEW YORK (AP) – Ohio State’s two-game visit to Madison Square Garden may have been inconsistent at times. The Buckeyes’ best player, however, has been consistent all season. Evan Turner had 26 points and 14 rebounds, his fourth double-double in as many games, and No. 15 Ohio State beat No. 13 California 76-70 on Friday night in the third-place game of the 2K Sports Classic. – MORE –

Buckeyes Check in From NYC
NEW YORK — The Ohio State men’s basketball team arrived in New York Wednesday about 4 p.m. for games in the 2K Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer. The Buckeyes will face defending national champion North Carolina at about 9:15 p.m. Thursday following the Syracuse vs. California game at 7 p.m. Both games will be televised on ESPN2. – MORE –
