After a well-fought game on Sunday and a day off Monday, the team was ready to get after it at practice on Tuesday. After starting with some technical work with Glen, we played a 7 v 7 game, which helped us to take personal responsibility on both offense and defense. Next was 1 v 1 to goal, some practice penalty kicks and finally 4 v 4 to goals. Everyone came to practice with a lot of energy and we were able to get a lot out of the training while having fun. As opposed to last week’s focus on “line pride” on Tuesday we focused on having pride as a team.
Practice Wednesday was focused on being dangerous in the offensive third and raising the level of our game as a team. We also recapped last the game from last Sunday, highlighting positive aspects to our defensive, midfield, and attacking lines. Again, it seemed like everyone came to practice with the mentality to leave it on the field. Since we’ll play the way we train, we want to train at our best and most competitive, taking pride in our game.
Thursday at practice consisted of training patterns through the midfield, getting a lot of repetition with shots on goal, and a competitive game of defense against offense to goal. The team is looking forward to a busy weekend of Big Ten games against Iowa (Friday at 7:30 p.m.) and Northwestern (Sunday at noon). These weekends always prove to be a challenge, but we’re ready to get on the playing field and bounce back after a tough loss last weekend. Friday’s game is also “Go Pink” supporting those in our lives affected by breast cancer. Come support the Buckeyes and help raise awareness by wearing pink!
See you all then!
Ali
