Buckeyes Host #1 Penn State Wednesday, at #5 Minnesota Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State (14-3 overall, 2-2 Big Ten) women’s volleyball team hosts top-ranked Penn State (16-0, 4-0) at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday in St. John Arena. The match will be broadcast live by the Big Ten Network with Randy Rhinehart and Ohio State All-American Audrey DiPronio Flaugh calling the action. The Buckeyes then travel to fifth-ranked Minnesota (13-3, 4-0) for a 6 p.m. CT match in the Sports Pavilion. The contest will be streamed live on bigtennetwork.com. Last week, Ohio State lost 3-1 to Wisconsin and defeated Iowa, 3-0, in home matches. – MORE –

Drop the Puck! Buckeyes Open 2009-10 vs. Quinnipiac
The No. 17-ranked Ohio State men’s hockey team (0-0-0, 0-0-0 CCHA) opens 2009-10 with a home series against Quinnipiac (0-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC). The teams will meet at 7:05 p.m. Thursday and Friday in Value City Arena in Columbus. Ohio State is opening its season with four-consecutive home games for the first time since 2006-07. It is the first time the team is opening a season with four non-conference games in a row since the 1980-81 squad began its year with eight out-of-conference contests in a row. – MORE –

No. 25 Ohio State Looks to Bounce Back Against Iowa, Northwestern
COLUMBUS, Ohio – After dropping its first match since Aug. 30, the Ohio State women’s soccer team looks to rebound when it hosts Iowa at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Northwestern at noon Sunday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. Friday will be Buckeyes Go Pink night in support of breast cancer awareness and the Sunday game against the Wildcats will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. – MORE –

Kicking Cancer: Buckeye Freshman Matt Lampson Earns Shutout vs. Lymphoma
Matt Lampson is in his first season with the Ohio State men’s soccer team. Diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in June 2007 as a senior at St. Charles Prep in Columbus, Ohio, Lampson delayed entrance to Northern Illinois until fall 2008 before transferring to Ohio State last winter. Five games into the 2009 season, he earned the starting goalkeeper role before sitting out vs. Northwestern with a minor ankle injury. – MORE –
