Dan “Boom” Herron, freshman running back
On the attitude of the team
“We’re hungry now. We were hurting after a big loss like that, but we’re ready to go now. We’re working hard in practice. Practice has been very intense. We’ve been working hard and going fast. We’re looking forward to playing the rest of the season. We have a lot of games to go.”
On Chris Wells
“He’s a great leader and a big part of our offense. He practiced a little today and did some running back drills. He’s looking better and looks good. We have a lot of great running backs though and we’re all working hard.”
Kurt Coleman, junior defensive back
On the team’s mood
“We’re fired up. We’re hustling and ready to put everything behind us. We’re mentally tough and we’re focused on what needs to be done and the task at hand. We’re ready to put last weekend behind us and move forward. We know that the Rose Bowl is a possibility.”
On Troy
“They’re an athletic team. We know they’re tough and that has helped us focus on this weekend. They’re a team that will travel anywhere to play any team. We’re going to approach this game as if it was a national championship.”
Ben Person, senior offensive lineman
On using a two quarterback system
“We knew it was going to be a possibility. If that is what’s best for the team, then I think we should do it. We like changing it up because it seems to open the offense up more and keep the defense on its heels.”
On Steve Rehring’s injury
“It affects us because he’s a three-year starter. The younger guys are going to have to get ready to go and be prepared because we need them. I’m sure we will roll some guys in and out during the game to keep everyone fresh.”
