Athletics: Plenty of Buckeyes in Action on Opening Weekend – Ohio State Buckeyes

The 2008 athletics seasons has arrived. If you’re heading to campus to cheer on the Ohio State football team this weekend, be sure to check out all the exciting Buckeye athletics events, Aug. 29-31.
The Ohio State women’s volleyball team hosts the Sports Imports Classic Friday and Saturday in St. John Arena. The Buckeyes will be in action against Toledo Friday at 11 a.m. and vs. Xavier at 7:30 p.m. They will return to the court Saturday when they host Youngstown State at 6 p.m. Saturday is Go Bucks’ Day and all tickets are just $2!
The 2007 Big Ten Champion and NCAA National Runner-up men’s soccer team is hosting the eighth annual Bert and Iris Wolstein Classic at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium this weekend. The Buckeyes take on Florida Gulf Coast at 7:30 p.m. Friday (Penn State vs. Central Florida at 5 p.m.) The tournament continues Sunday as the Buckeyes take on Central Florida at 2:30 p.m. (Penn State vs. Florida Gulf Coast play at noon).
The Ohio State field hockey team kicks-off its season on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Kent State at the North Turf Field. The first 120 fans in attendance, will receive a FREE ice cream sandwich courtesy of Velvet Ice Cream. It is great family fun and admission is FREE for all fans.
