Stanford fending off Buckeyes, Nittany Lions and Wolverines for top spot after winter season
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Updated standings for the 2007-08 Division I U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup were released Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Stanford remained in the top spot with a total of 1,082 points. Big Ten programs Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State rank second-fourth, separated by less than 80 points.
Recent contributors to Ohio State’s overall score of 703.75 included the men’s and women’s gymnastics teams that supplied nearly 60 points each from their respective showings at the NCAA championships.
The first spring updates for the Directors’ Cup standings will be released May 29. The official Directors’ Cup release and complete standings are linked to the story.
