Ohio State Student-Athletes Set to Perform in Talent Show Tuesday – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State student-athletes will show off their hidden talents when they perform in the student-athlete talent show at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. John Arena. The event, organized by the Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB), is open to the public. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Those who donate canned food will receive a $2 discount. All proceeds will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus. The canned goods will be donated to the Mid-Ohio FoodBank.
Teams scheduled to appear are football, men’s cross country, men’s lacrosse, men’s track and field, rowing, synchronized swimming, women’s gymnastics, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and wrestling. Acts will include singing and dancing, lip synching, stand-up and a short game show. Local radio personality Paul Strong from Power 107.5 FM will act as the event’s emcee. The Ohio State cheerleaders also will be in attendance and will toss t-shirts to the crowd in between acts.
“This event brings all the student-athletes at Ohio State together and all the proceeds benefit good causes,” Ellen Hacker, a senior synchronized swimmer, said. “Our team is really excited about our performance and we hope it will be something the audience will enjoy.”
Ohio State Director of Athletics Gene Smith, football head coach Jim Tressel, former Block-O president Brandon West and Laurie Beth Sweeney from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus will serve as the judges.
