Synchronized Swimming Finishes Third at 2007 U.S. National Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team tallied 23 points en route to a third-place finish at the 2007 U.S. National Championships April 26-28 at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind. Three of the four Buckeye routines entered advanced to the finals.
The Santa Clara Aquamaids finished first with 48 points and Stanford was second with 35 points.
The Scarlet team averaged a 94.501 to finish second in the team competition. Team Scarlet is comprised of Michelle Benzie (El Cajon, Calif.), Jayme DeLancy (Hamden, Conn.), Ellen Hacker (Newark, Ohio), Carmen Moraes (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil), Barbara Nesbitt (Riverside, Calif.), Leah Pinette (Bristol, Conn.), Hannah Shively (Westerville, Ohio) and Caitlin Stewart (Huntington Beach, Calif.).
The Gray team scored an 89.167 for sixth. Kaitlin Bolt (Cincinnati, Ohio), Julia Broadfoot (El Cajon, Calif.), Erin DeMarco (alt.)(Coral Springs, Fla.), Liz Derr (St. Paul, Minn.), Rita Gillan (Andover, Mass.), Jackie Mundy (Corona, Calif.), Brooke Paul (Columbus, Ohio), Emilie Siemer (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Kendra Sollars (Scottsdale, Ariz.) make up the Gray squad. Soloist Nesbitt finished third with a 91.834.
