Ohio State Receives 53 Academic All-Big Ten Selections – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2007 winter term Academic All-Big Ten honorees Wednesday and the Buckeyes received 53 selections. The 53 honorees are nine more than Ohio State received last winter and were second in the conference. In total, there were 445 total athletes honored from the Big Ten Conference.
The Ohio State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams combined for 20 nominations while the wrestling squad collected eight selections.
Sophomore gymnast Alyssa Meyer (So., Exercise Science Education) was one of only five Big Ten athletes to boast an unblemished 4.0 GPA.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten honors, student-athletes must be letterwinners in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
