Ashlee is here so we will go ahead and begin. |
Erin:Cincinnati: |
Saturday is a double-header for the men’s and women’s basketball team. Is it fun for the two teams to play back-to-back home games? |
Ashlee:: |
I don’t recall us ever doing this since I’ve been at OhioState but it’s exciting for the fans to have the chance to watch two great basketball games. Our two teams are friendly because we live in the same dorm freshman year. |
Dan:Worthington: |
Why didn’t you originally select OhioState as your destination and then why did you choose it when you decided to transfer? |
Ashlee:: |
At first I wanted to stay close to home and UCLA is only about 20 miles away. After I decided to transfer and took all my visits, I decided OhioState would be the best for me. I liked Coach Foster and the fact that OhioState had a great football team. |
Bre:Oxford: |
Do you still have copies of the shows you were on? |
Ashlee:: |
Yes, I have most of them. E.R. is one of the only shows that doesn’t give you copies. |
Jeff Cotterell:Nampa: Idaho: |
Can your little brother, Colt, dribble yet? I mean the basketball… |
Ashlee:: |
Probably after his first birthday we’ll get him a men’s basketball and start to work on it. He’s already started to bench and squat though. |
Jess:Philadelphia: |
Do you get anytime off from play this winter to visit home? Are you getting used to the cold weather? |
Ashlee:: |
We get three days off for Christmas so I’m staying here but my parents and little brother are in town. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the cold weather but I do enjoy being able to buy cute warm clothes. |
Ariel:Kim, CO: |
Was it fun acting? |
Ashlee:: |
Yes, being on the sets was a lot of fun. When I was young I didn’t realize who I was working with so I wasn’t star struck – it was just a lot of fun. |
Cathryn:Kim, CO: |
What is your favorite color? |
Ashlee:: |
My favorite color of clothes is brown, car is silver and I want a big white house. |
Jon:Kim, CO: |
What do you focus on when shooting? Do you look at the front of the rim or the back of the rim? |
Ashlee:: |
I’ve been on the floor so long I just know where the basket is. Sometimes I can’t even see the hoop when the opponent puts a 6-5 defender on me. I’ve done so many reps it just comes naturally now. |
Jon:Kim, CO: |
I hear you are taking Swahili. Could you give us a greeting or something in Swahili? |
Ashlee:: |
Sijambo mimi ninaishi mji wa Columbus. Na wewe je. Which means, ‘Hello, I’m from Columbus. How about you?’ |
Ariel:Kim, CO: |
How far do you think the team will go in post season? |
Ashlee:: |
Farther than we’ve gone in past seasons. We are a faster team this year. Individuals have developed over the offseason and with the addition of a strong freshman class we should be able to go far this season. |
Jeff Cotterell:Nampa,Idaho: |
Ashlee, who is your favorite uncle? How long did it take you guys to get home from Seattle? Our plane was delayed about an hour and a half. But I heard it took you guys a long time. We are very proud of you. Keep up the good work. |
Ashlee:: |
Uncle Sam, for sure. Just kidding – Uncle Jeff is my favorite. We had to sit in the airport for over five hours. Then it took five hours to fly to Cincinnati before we waited for another two hours for our flight to Columbus. |
Richie:Batavia, OH: |
What is your favorite novel? |
Ashlee:: |
Catcher In the Rye |
Sue Wein:Columbus: |
No question. Just wanted to let you know that I enjoy watching you play basketball. I am glad you transferred to OhioState. |
Ashlee:: |
Thanks Sue! It was really nice working with you this summer. |
Jon:Kim, CO: |
What are you plans after graduating from OSU? |
Ashlee:: |
I’m unsure right now. I’m majoring in communication but I could see myself as a college coach or as a reporter on television. |
Laura:Dayton: |
Has it been tough getting back to game fitness after your car crash this summer? |
Ashlee:: |
Yes, after the first few games I felt like my legs were going to fall off. |
Yvonne Pedersen:Brea: |
Hi Ashley, having played with a point guard like Lauren Pedersen, how does your team run a motion offense? Say hi to your mom and Merry Christmas to both of you!! |
Ashlee:: |
Lauren Pedersen is one of the greatest point guards I’ve played with in my career and I wish her the best at UCSB. Merry Christmas back to you and tell Arnie I say hello! |
Tim:Powell: |
After defeating YoungstownState by more than 30 points, how does the team have to come out against Nebraska Saturday? |
Ashlee:: |
In a win like YSU we start to work on specific things. Practice the next two days will be very intense because Nebraska is a good team. |
Ariel:Kim, CO: |
In the game against Ole Miss, what made the difference for shooting? |
Ashlee:: |
I have no idea – my shots just started to fall in. |
Ariel:Kim, CO: |
On defense would you rather play zone or man-to-man? |
Ashlee:: |
Probably man-to-man. I like half-man, half-zone when we run a lot of traps. |
Jon:Kim, CO: |
I’ve heard that you don’t like computers. Who talked you into doing an online chat? |
Ashlee:: |
No, I don’t like computers. I only use them for e-mail and online banking. I’m actually not even the one typing – do you really think I can type this fast? |
Jeff Cotterell:Nampa, Idaho: |
At the beginning of each game, remember to wave at the TV camera and say hi to your family in Idaho. |
Ashlee:: |
I might get in trouble if I wave to the camera each game so I do a leg stretch before each tip off – that’s me saying hello. |
OhioStateBuckeyes.co:: |
That’s it for Ashlee. Thank you for all the questions. |
