ESPN’s College GameDay made it’s debut on a Big Ten campus Saturday at Ohio State’s Value City Arena as part of its daylong programming of NCAA Division I Men’s College Basketball. The crew of Rece Davis, Hubert Davis, Digger Phelps and Jay Bilas were on hand to get the day started. Thad Matta, head coach of the Buckeyes, was on hand for a segment of the morning show to help illustrate plays designed for Ohio State freshman center Greg Oden. The GameDay crew will use Value City Arena as headquarters throughout the day prior to its hour-long preview show (8-9 p.m.) leading up to the Buckeyes’ game vs. Michigan State. The battle with the Spartans will tip off at 9 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN2. Dick Vitale, Dan Shulman and Erin Andrews will be the team of announcers as No. 5 Ohio State tries to extend its 20-game home win streak at VCA.
