Thad Matta has earned conference titles in three Division Iconferences in his six-year coaching career after clinching a leasta share of the 2006 Big Ten title at Northwestern. Matta won theMidwestern Collegiate title as a rookie head coach in 2001 and thenthe Atlantic 10 title in both 2002 and 2003. The Buckeyes now have18 Big Ten titles to their credit, which includes 10 outrightchampionships. Ohio State will be playing for the opportunity towith the 2006 title outright vs. Purdue Sunday.
