Seniors Terence Dials and J.J. Sullinger are college graduates.The pair was scheduled to receive diplomas Sunday upon completionof Ohio State’s 2006 winter quarter Friday. Dials earned a degreein sociology while Sullinger’s degree is in African-American andAfrican studies. Georgetown and Ohio State have one commonopponent, Illinois. The Illini defeated the Hoyas 58-48 Dec. 8 inChampaign. The Buckeyes downed Illinois 69-53 Feb. 12 in Columbus.Ohio State has faced Georgetown three times since the first game ofthe series in 1981. Ohio State won the first game played betweenthe schools 47-46 at the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage.Georgetown was ranked No. 5 nationally in that Nov. 29, 1981contest. The teams met for the second time March 15, 1987 in thesecond round of NCAA tournament play in Atlanta. The Hoyas, rankedNo. 4, won 82-79. The most recent meeting was contested Dec. 22,1990 in Las Vegas. The No. 7-ranked Buckeyes defeated No. 12Georgetown 71-60. Georgetown, ranked No. 23 this week, again facesOhio State as a nationally-rated team in the Associated Press poll.The Hoyas have been ranked in all four meetings vs. the Buckeyes.Ohio State, ranked No. 6 this week, has not been among the Top 10nationally since facing No. 15 Michigan as the No. 3 team March 29,1992 in the NCAA tournament regional finals.
