GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Ohio State men’s hockey team prepared for the Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis., Friday. After arriving in Green Bay late Thursday night after a game with Michigan State and getting some sleep, the squad loaded the bus to historic Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers.
The Buckeyes began the day at the field with a tour of the facility and the features within, including the Packers’ locker room and the three Lombardi Trophies won by the Packers over the years. After head coach John Markell, Nate Guenin and Dave Caruso attended a press conference, the team hit the outdoor ice surface for the first time. Practice lasted about an hour and 15 minutes in the approximately 30-degree weather. After showering, the team headed to the Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic reception and banquet on the fourth floor of the Lambeau Field Atrium in the Legends Club. The team then headed back to the hotel to rest up for the game vs. Wisconsin Saturday.
Saturday, the Buckeyes and Badgers will meet at 4 p.m. EST on the ice at Lambeau Field. The game will be televised live by FSN North, with FSN Ohio and Leafs TV picking up the feed. WOSU Radio will broadcast the game on 820 AM in Columbus and online at www.wosu.org.
