Ohio State Men’s Gymnastics Moves to No.1 in GymInfo National Rankings – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State men’s gymnastics team garnered the No. 1 spot in the GymInfo national rankings after placing first at the Windy City Invitational in Chicago Jan. 14. The Buckeyes climbed from last place after the second rotation to beat No. 2 Illinois (210.500) by more than a point and turned in the highest team score in the country with a score 211.650 points.
The Buckeyes lead the country in three of six events. The team tops the rankings on floor exercise (36.050), parallel bars (35.750) and high bar (36.500) after the first weekend of competition.
Ohio State overtook the No. 1 spot from Oklahoma. Ranked No. 1 in the preseason coaches’ poll, Oklahoma is currently third in the rankings after scoring 208.850 at the Rocky Mountain Open.
Up next, Ohio State will compete against No. 2 Illinois for the second time this season in its first dual meet and season home-opener at 7 p.m. Jan. 28 at St. John Arena.
