Postgame Quotes
Holy Cross head coach Paul Pearl
On the game
“We didn’t play very disciplined tonight, which you can’t do in a game like this. We talked about it before the game, but we didn’t do it. We played a very good team but you can’t have a lot of penalty time with them. When it was 1-0 or 2-0, there’s still the chance of a return, but we weren’t disciplined.”
John Markell, Ohio State head coach
On the game vs. Holy Cross
“First of all, Holy Cross played a good game. We knew they would blitz us with their speed and work ethic. They had the opportunity to make the game 2-all with wide open breakaways. There were things going on in the game we normally would not get away with, but our special teams worked well for us. It was good to see Dave (Caruso) back. Overall, we did a good job of making adjustments.”
On preparing for game vs. Miami
“Miami will be ready to go. It is an opportunity for us to play the No. 2 team in the nation. It will be nice to play Miami and I hope to see a lot of fans and show them what college hockey is all about.”
Sean Collins, junior defenseman
On starting the second half of the season
“We’re not too happy with the first half of our season, so we’re really excited to come into our second half refreshed. We had a good week in practice and came into the game excited. I think tomorrow’s game (against No. 2 Miami) will be a good test for us going into the second half of the season.”
Matt Waddell, junior defenseman
On the game Friday against Miami
“We’re always up for a game against Miami. It’s a lot of fun. We never have any trouble getting ready to play Miami.”
