Itwas Sullinger’s second consecutive double-digit rebound game andfifth of his career. Tuesday marked Dials’ 15th 20+ scoring game ofhis career. The last time Dials scored at least 20 was March 6,2005 against Illinois. Jamar Butler finished with a career-high15points including 13 in the second-half and overtime periods.Tuesday marked the first overtime game for Ohio State since Jan.19, 2005 at Minnesota. It was the first overtime win since Jan. 2,1999 at Wisconsin, snapping a six-game skid in extra-session games.Ohio State is 36-51 all-time in overtime games, including an 18-19mark at home and 1-2 mark at Value City Arena.
Butler Notes
Tuesday’s game marked the first time two former Butler playersfaced each other as opposing head coaches. Butler’s 13-for-29three-point shooting was the second best by an opponent in ValueCity Arena. Coastal Carolina set the all-time mark with 14 makes on30 attempts Dec. 12, 1999. Butler is now 8-30 all-time against OhioState, including 3-18 on the road. Butler is 89-204 all-timeagainst Big Ten opponents. Senior forward Brandon Polk wasteammates with Ohio State guard Sylvester Mayes in the 2003-04season at Redlands Community College. Brandon Crone scored acareer-high 27 points, eclipsing a 20-point performance against UICFeb. 26, 2005. Polk had his double-figure scoring streak snapped at21 games. Tuesday marked Butler’s first overtime game since Jan.13, 2005, a 77-72 victory at Loyola.
