COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior forward Paul Caponigri and freshman forward Matt Beaudoin have earned honorable mention March/April College Sports Television (CSTV)/Hockey Commissioners’ Association (HCA) National Division I Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month honors, respectively. The duo helped lead the Buckeyes to the Mason Cup championship, the squad’s first Central Collegiate Hockey Association tournament title since 1972.

He had a career-best four points, on two goals and two assists, in the quarterfinal win over Notre Dame at the CCHA Super Six. Against the Irish, Beaudoin scored the last two goals in regulation, including the game-tying goal with less than 2:30 remaining. Beaudoin posted an assist in the championship game against the Wolverines. His four-point game tied the OSU postseason record set three times before, with the last coming in 1992.
