Men’s Gymnastics Contingent Completes 2004 Visa American Cup Competition – Ohio State Buckeyes

Paul Hamm, who trains with head coach Miles Avery in Columbus finished third in the all-around competition at the 2004 Visa American Cup Feb. 28. Former Buckeye Blaine Wilson (1994-97) and Morgan Hamm, who also train with Avery, participated in the annual event as well.
In the all-around competition, Paul Hamm was the leader after five rotations before he slipped on high bar to drop out of the top spot. Hamm scored a 9.025 on the final event. Morgan Hamm finished first on the floor and pommel horse competitions, scoring a 9.725 on both events. Wilson, the 2003 Visa American Cup champion, began the meet with a strong start, compiling a 9.650 and a 9.3 on floor and pommel horse. However, during his routine on rings, Wilson sustained a torn left bicep.
Ohio State resumes team competition when it travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., to face the Michigan Wolverines at 7 p.m. March 13 at Cliff Kleen Arena.
