Ohio State Synchronized Swimming Wins Tri-Meet – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team defeated Keuka College and Michigan in the OSU Tri-Meet held Saturday at Larkins Hall in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes finished with a total of 95 points, ahead of Keuka College (69) and Michigan (63.5).
Ohio State freshman Katrin Eggenberger (Buchs SG, Switzerland) earned first-place honors in the solo event (88.333) while teammate Leslie Edgerton (So., Cincinnati, Ohio) took second. In the duet competition, freshmen Kate Hooven (Pleasanton, Calif.) and Becky Kim (Walnut Creek, Calif.) finished first with a mark of 91.334. Jessica Beck (So., Richmond, Va.) and Stephanie Raftery (So., Cincinnati, Ohio) placed second. Hooven, Kim and junior Lindsay Newbill (Laguana Hills, Calif.) earned first in the trio event with a score of 91.667. Lauren Byrom (So., Westville, Ohio), Edgerton and Katie Meyer (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio) finished second.
In addition, Kim took home first-place honors in technical elements, notching a score of 83.091. Eggenberger placed second and Edgerton finished third.
The Buckeyes (3-0) return to action Feb. 7 when they play host to the OSU College Association Meet at the Varsity Pool in Larkins Hall.
