Williams Elects to Transfer from Ohio State – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Zach Williams, a three-year member of the Ohio State men’s basketball team, has decided to leave the Buckeyes to play his final year of college basketball at an undetermined institution, Jim O’Brien, head coach of the Buckeyes, announced Tuesday. Williams notified the Ohio State basketball program Monday of his decision.
Williams (6-7, 230, Brooklyn, N.Y./Christ the King High School) played in 94 games at Ohio State, starting 84, during his three seasons with the Buckeyes. He scored 801 points for an average of 8.5 a contest. He also recorded 461 rebounds for an average of 4.9 a game.
A family resource management major at Ohio State, Williams averaged nearly 28 minutes per game at Ohio State and connected on 50 percent of his shots (313-628). His best season was the 2001-02 campaign, when he averaged 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds.
