Chelsea Luker of the synchronized swimming team finished first in the solo event with a score of 90.883 and teamed up with Lauren Marsh to capture the duet competition (90.166) in a tri-meet against Miami (Ohio) and Walsh University Saturday.
Wrestling senior Keaton Anderson (Sr., Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington) went a perfect 5-0 as he helped lead Ohio State to a fourth place finish at the 2003 NWCA/ Cliff Keen National Duals. Included in the five wins were a pin, a major decision and decision victories over three nationally ranked opponents. Anderson topped No. 4 and two-time All-American Shane Roller of Oklahoma State 8-5 in the semfinal loss to the top-ranked Cowboys and defeated No. 6 Gray Maynard of Michigan State in the 19-17 second round win over the Spartans by a score of 8-6. Anderson has now won 11 straight matches en route to a 23-1 mark on the season.
Dan Taylor (Jr., Middlefield, Ohio/ Berkshire) set a school record in the weight throw as he captured first place in both the weight throw (19.45 m) and shot put (21.09 m) at the Illinois Invitational Saturday in Champaign, Ill. With his performance in the shot put, Taylor, an All-American in 2002, has climbed to the top spot nationally in the event.
