Athletes of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

Freshman field hockey goalkeeper Lara Koole was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after recording 16 saves in two contests last week. She led the Buckeyes to a pair of double overtime victories. She is third in the conference with 4.17 saves per game and has registered three shutouts this season. In the Buckeyes’ road win over No. 11 Iowa, Koole recorded nine saves. Against Ball State, she posted seven stops.
Sophomore diver Mitch Richeson led the divers in the Buckeyes’ win over Ohio, taking both the 1- and 3-meter competitions in the squad’s season-opening meet.
