No. 3 Men’s Gymnastics Concludes NCAA Competition – Ohio State Buckeyes

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The No. 3 Ohio State men’s gymnastics team concluded NCAA competition with the event finals Sunday at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pa. Four Buckeyes reached All-American stature with a team total of six honors by placing in the Top 6 of an event including two earned Saturday in the all-around competition. Senior Raj Bhavsar (Houston, Texas) finished his Ohio State career with 10 total All-American honors and 2 individual national championships (2001 parallel bars and 2002 all-around).
The event finals will be aired on tape-delay on CN8TV Sunday at 7:30. A web cast also will be available on www.cn8tv.com at the same time.
Six Buckeyes qualified for eight routines in four events in the team and all-around finals Saturday where Ohio State placed second with a team score of 220.7 points.
Bhavsar placed in the Top 6 in two events to compile three All-American accolades in his senior season. He landed in sixth place on pommel horse with a 9.362 and on rings with a 9.487 but was edged out on parallel bars with an eighth-place 8.55.
Senior Ryan Schwartzkopf (Columbus, Ind.), a pommel horse specialist, placed fifth with 9.537 points to end his Ohio State career as an All-American in his event. Kerry Adderly (So., Orlando, Fla.) posted a third-place 9.312 to secure his second-consecutive All-American title on floor.
Cody Trobaugh (So., Dallas, Texas) just missed All-American honors in two events as he placed eighth on floor with a 8.675 and on rings with a 9.437. Randy Monahan (So., Elizabethtown, Pa.) scored a tenth place 8.725 on rings. Freshman Ronald Ferris (Fr., Austintown, Ohio) scored an ninth-place 8.45 on parallel bars.
