Buckeyes Aim to Even Season Series
Ohio State has won 79 games in the all-time series against Wisconsin, including six of the last nine games played. Wisconsin owns 56 victories after a hard-fought 53-52 win in Columbus Jan. 18. This will be the first meeting in Big Ten Tournament play and on a neutral court for the two teams.
Buckeyes Own Edge vs. Ranked Badger Teams
In seven previous games in which Ohio State has faced a Wisconsin team ranked in the Associated Press Top 25, the Buckeyes own a 4-3 advantage, including victories in three of the last four meetings. An unranked Ohio State team last defeated a ranked Badger squad Feb. 10, 2001 in Columbus by the score of 63-58. Wisconsin was the No. 16 team at the time. The last Wisconsin win as a ranked team in the series was Jan. 24, 2001 in Madison. The No. 19 Badgers claimed a 57-42 victory in that game.
Ohio State Looks for 3rd Win In 2002-03 vs. Ranked Opponent
Ohio State has an all-time record of 127-300 vs. teams ranked among the Top 25 in the Associated Press Poll. Ohio State owns victories over No. 15 Indiana (81-69, Jan. 11) and No. 24 Purdue (52-33, Feb. 22) this year.
Darby Top Performer in Games vs. Wisconsin
Senior Brent Darby has scored 63 points in six career games against Wisconsin for a scoring average of 10.5 points per game. Senior Sean Connolly has the next best offensive average of players with more than one game played against the Badgers with 8.0 points a game in four meetings with the Badgers. Junior Shun Jenkins scored 16 points in the earlier meeting this year. Jenkins also had 11 rebounds in that game.
Penney Tops Four UW Scorers in Double Figures
Senior Kirk Penney is the top UW scorer with an average of 16.5 points a game. Sophomore Devin Harris follows him offensively with 14.9 points a game. Alando Tucker is next with 12.1 ppg., followed by Devin Harris (10.6) and Mike Wilkinson (10.3).
