Paul Caponigri named CCHA Player of the Month – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Buckeye senior forward Paul Caponigri (Sr., Oak Park, Ill.) was the Central Collegiate Hockey Association’s player of the month, making him an honorable mention selection for College Sports Television (CSTV)/Hockey Commissioners’ Association (HCA) National Division I Player of the Month honors.
During November, Caponigri led the Buckeyes with 12 points, on six goals and six assists. In addition, he was +13 in the Buckeyes’ eight games combined.
Highlights of Caponigri’s month included recording his first career hat trick (and the Buckeyes’ first in 129 games) at Northern Michigan Nov. 8 and hitting the 100-point mark for his career with an assist against Alaska Fairbanks Nov. 1. He scored the gamewinning goal both at Northern Michigan Nov. 8 and at Colgate Nov. 21. He also had the primary assist on Dave Steckel’s gamewinner with 53 seconds remaining at Cornell.
This season, Caponigri leads the Buckeyes in goals (11) and points (19). In his career, he has 47-65-112 totals in 130 games.
