The Buckeyes will celebrate 2004 on a three-game winningstreak. In addition, Ohio State is 48-41 all-time in its final gameof December. Ohio State head coach Jim O’Brien has sent differentstarting lineups to the court in four consecutive games. For theyear, the combination of Terence Dials, Velimir Radinovic, TonyStockman, Nick Dials and Ugo Nwankwo is the sixth different Buckeyestarting lineup used this season. With the win following a 29-20halftime edge, the Buckeyes have a perfect 7-0 record when they ledtheir opponents at halftime. Ohio State also is 7-0 when it leadswith five minutes remaining in the game. The Buckeye defense heldUMBC to 44 points – the lowest for any opponent this season.Eastern Illinois scored 50 points Dec. 23. The last time anopponent was held below 50 points was Feb. 22, 2003 when OSU beatPurdue, 52-44. UMBC’s two 3-point field goals on eight attempts isa season-low for an opponent in each category this year. EasternIllinois netted three 3-pointers on Dec. 23. Senior center Velimir Radinovic scored 19 points Tuesday, tyinghis season-best set earlier this season vs. Samford (Dec. 13,2003). Radinovic scored a career-high 20 points last season againstPurdue (Jan. 29, 2003). Senior forward Shun Jenkins grabbed eightrebounds in 20 minutes to set a season-high. Jenkins also scoredfive points on the night, tying his season-best set twice thisseason against San Diego State and Seton Hall. Freshman guard NickDials recorded a steal, assist and a jumper in 34 seconds in thefirst half. The steal came at 9:36 and the basket was at 9:02. OhioState junior guard Tony Stockman recorded 12 points Tuesday night,marking his 10th game this season scoring double figures in points.
