Ohio State Rowing Sweeps Varsity Eight and Pair Competition at Speakmon Head Race – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State rowing team’s eight boats finished in the No. 1, 2 and 3 positions, while the pair boats rounded out the Top 5 at the Speakmon Head Race on the Scioto River in Columbus, Ohio.
The Ohio State varsity eight boats all finished under 17 minutes. OSU B eight finished first at 16:17.4, OSU A eight fell just behind with a 16:25.11 finished and the OSU C eight boat rounded out the top three at 16:55.36.
OSU also entered five pair boats into the competition, which took all Top 5 spots out of 11 boats. The pairs finished as follows – 1st – 19:42.16, 2nd – 19:53.88, 3rd – 20:23.01, 4th – 20:31.85, 5th – 21:27.19.
“We are thrilled with the performance of our team today,” Andy Teitelbaum said. “Everyone gave it their best, which really showed in the end.”
Ohio State will compete at the Rivanna Romp Nov. 16 in Charlottesville, Va., to complete the fall schedule. Regular season action begins March 27 against Princeton and Brown in Princeton, N.J.
