Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State women’s basketball sophomore forward Charisse Crews (Urbancrest, Ohio/Grove City) suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in her right knee while competing abroad with the Buckeyes during a five-game, 12-day trip through Europe. Crews went down on Aug. 30 in Montreux, Switzerland, against Martigny (OSU’s third game of the trip) during the third quarter after scoring seven points that night for OSU. She will most likely have surgery on her knee within the next two weeks and is expected to be out for the 2002-03 season.
Last season, Crews averaged 4.4 points per game and 3.7 rebounds an outing, while shooting .551 (43-78) from the field, .412 (7-17) from three-point range and .619 (26-42) from the charity stripe.
