Men’s Gymnasts Set to Compete in National Qualifier – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four current members of the Ohio State men’s gymnastics team will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., to compete in the 2002 U.S. Gymnastics National Qualifier. Jamey Houle (Jr., Enfield, Conn.), Randy Monahan (So., Elizabethtown, Pa.), Kerry Adderly (So., Orlando, Fla.) and Dick Huntwork (Sr., Pickerington, Ohio) all will try and qualify for the 2002 U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The competition will be held at the U.S. Olympic Training Center Saturday, June 29.
Former Buckeye and five-time national champion Blaine Wilson also will compete in the meet, marking his return to competition following shoulder surgery and rehabilitation.
The top gymnasts in the qualifier will advance to the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Cleveland, Aug. 7-10. The U.S. Championships serve as a step in the qualification procedure for the 2002 Individual Gymnastics World Championships, which will be held Nov. 20-24 in Debrecen, Hungary.
