Teitelbaum Named Central Region Coach of the Year – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced Monday Andy Teitelbaum, Ohio State head rowing coach, has been selected as the Central Region Coach of the Year.
The regional coach of the year award is intended to recognize a coach who has experienced outstanding success during the season, demonstrated great team improvement from the prior season, fulfilled their team’s potential and/or demonstrated a high level of professionalism and integrity as a coach.
Teitelbaum guided the Buckeyes to the 2002 Big Ten Championship, a second place finish in the 2002 Central Regional competition and a fifth-place finish in the 2002 NCAA Championships. He was named the 2002 Big Ten Coach of the Year following the program’s first conference title this year.
Teitelbaum said his most recent honor comes as a result of his team’s effort in 2002. “It is really a wonderful honor,” Teitelbaum said. “More than anything it signifies the program had a great season. It is a tribute to everybody in the program.”
