Remember when Jesse Owens won four gold medals at the 1936 Summer Olympics? And we’ll never forget when Columbus native Jack Nicklaus won his sixth Masters Championship in 1986. There are so many unforgettable moments in Columbus’ sports history.
On June 27th at Nationwide Arena, the Greater Columbus Convention & Visitors Bureau will present a special event called Columbus Celebrates Sports. CBS Sports host Greg Gumbel will count down the top 10 greatest moments in Columbus’ sports history — as voted by Columbus residents — as shown through video clips, vintage photographs and headlines.
Here are the nine events with Ohio State connections that have been nominated for the “Favorite Columbus Sports Moment?”
