Men’s Basketball To Visit Ohio Statehouse – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio– Members of the Ohio State men’s basketball team will visit the Ohio Statehouse at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Columbus. Head coach Jim O’Brien and members of the team will be presented with resolutions from the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives in honor of their accomplishments during the 2001-02 season.
The team will first be presented with a resolution from the Ohio Senate in the Senate Chamber at 1:30 p.m. Senators Ben Espy, David Goodman, Priscilla Mead and several others will sponsor the presentation.
Following the presentation by the Senate, the team will proceed into the House Chamber for a presentation from the House of Representatives. The House award is sponsored and will be presented by Rep. Jim Hughes.
The Buckeyes were champions of the 2002 Big Ten Tournament in March and co-Big Ten champions during the regular season. O’Brien, a finalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year Award, has led the Buckeyes to four-consecutive 20-win seasons and NCAA tournament appearances.
