COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Ohio State rowing team won both of its races at the ACC/Big Ten Double Duels in Ann Arbor, Mich. today. Despite rough weather and conditions defeated Virginia, 7 minutes and 6 seconds to 7:10.3, in the morning session and Duke, 7:39.1 to 7:47.3, in the afternoon session. The second varsity eight split its races losing to Virginia in the morning session and defeating Duke in the afternoon session.
The varsity four “A” boat finished 14 seconds behind Virginia in the morning session, but defeated Duke in the afternoon. The varsity four “B” boat won the morning race over Virginia, because Duke did not have a second varsity four boat, the fours “B” boat raced Duke’s “A” boat as well as OSU’s “A” boat and finish third.
“It was a long day of racing,” AndyTeitelbaum, OSU head coach, said. “With everything, the weather we had over our spring break and today, we did well and now we must get ready for California.”
The Buckeyes will travel to San Diego, Calif. to compete in the Crew Classic April 6-7.
