The win against Michigan gives Ohio State a share of theregular season Big Ten title. Ohio State finished the regularseason with an overall record of 20-7 and 11-5 in the Big Ten. TheBuckeyes have finished in the Top 3 in the conference the pastthree years. The last time this was done was from 1968 to 1973,when the Buckeyes finished among the Top 3 teams in the Big Tensix-consecutive times. Boban Savovic opened the game by scoring thefirst seven points for OSU. He finished the game with 19. With his19-point performance Brian Brown moves into a tie for the No. 20spot for career scoring leaders. He ties Clark Kellogg (1980-82).They both have 1,285 points. Brown tied his career high for assistsin a game with eight. He had eight assists in a game last seasonagainst Coppin State (12/30/00). Brown is on pace to become justthe third Buckeye to score 1,300 points (he has 1,285), grab 400rebounds (433), hand out 350 assists (341) and record 100 steals(120). The only other Buckeyes to accomplish this are Kelvin Ransey(1,934 points, 417 rebounds, 516 assists and 169 steals) and JimJackson (1,785 points, 552 rebounds, 372 assists and 147 steals).Brown has scored in double-digits in 25-of-27 games this season.Brent Darby recorded 12 points in the first half to help theBuckeyes to a 34-29 lead at the half. Ohio State is 17-3 whenleading at the half. The Buckeyes have won six straight overMichigan. The last time they won six-consecutive games over theWolverines was from 1967 to 1972, when the Buckeyes earnedeight-consecutive victories. Ohio State leads the all-time seriesagainst the Wolverines, 81-67. The victory over the Wolverinesmarks the first time the Ohio State football team and men’sbasketball have concluded the regular season with victories in AnnArbor. The senior class (Brian Brown, Boban Savovic, Will Dudleyand Tim Martin) is the most successful class in Ohio Statebasketball history. They have recorded 90 wins, the most of anyclass at Ohio State, and could be the first class to make fourtrips to the NCAA tournament. They are only the senior class tohave four 20-win seasons. The Buckeyes outrebounded the Wolverines29-22. OSU is 16-3 when it outrebounds the opponent. OSU scored 84points against Michigan and was 27-of-50 shooting from the fieldfor a shooting percentage of .540. The Buckeyes are 16-3 when theyscore 70 or more points and are 11-1 when they shoot better than 50percent. Michigan was perfect from the free throw line making all16 attempts. This ties the opponent record for highest free throwpercentage in a game. The last time an opponent made all of itsfree throws was Indiana (1/27/88) when they went 18-of-18.
