Buckeyes Finish First At OSU College Association Meet – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team finished first at the OSU College Association Meet held Saturday at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center in Larkins Hall. The Buckeyes totaled 122 points, while Walsh finished second (84) and William & Mary was third (78.5).%^$
%^$The Buckeyes captured the top two places in the team event. Senior Carolina Moraes (San Paulo, Brazil/Club Paineiras de Murumby) notched top honors in the solo event, scoring a 96.667. Teammates Mary Hofer (Sr., Spring Valley, Calif./Sweetwater Dolphins) and Heather Burdick (Fr., Walnut Creek, Calif./Walnut Creek Aquanuts) placed second and third, respectively. Sisters Carolina and Isabela Moraes (San Paulo, Brazil/Club Paineiras de Murumby) were first in the duo event with a score of 97.000, while Victoria Bowen (Jr., Plano, Texas/Pirouttes of Texas) and Lindsay Newbill (Fr., Riverside, Calif./Riverside Aquettes) finished second. The Moraes sisters and Hofer teamed up to win the trio and Bowen, Suzanna Hyatt (Jr., Indianapolis, Ind./Indy Synchro) and Beth Kreimer (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Cincinnati Synchrogators) placed second.%^$
%^$OSU also fared well in figures as Carolina Moraes finished first in the ‘A’ figures, Lauren Marsh (Fr., Spring Valley, Calif./Sweetwater Dolphins) placed first in ‘B’ figures and Mary Elliott (Fr., Harrison, Ohio/Cincinnati Synchrogators) took first in the ‘C’ figures.%^$
%^$Ohio State will return to action Saturday with the team at split locations competing in Richmond, Va., and at the Walsh Invitational in Canton, Ohio.%^$
